How to care for your carpet
Day to day
- Vacuum once or twice a week along the pile, without a rotating brush on long-pile (shaggy) carpets.
- Rotate the carpet every 6 months so it wears evenly.
- Use an anti-slip underlay: it protects both carpet and floor.
Stains
- Act at once: blot (don't rub!) with a clean towel.
- Lukewarm water with a little neutral detergent; rinse with clean water and towel dry.
- No bleach and no harsh dry-cleaning on wool or viscose.
Deep cleaning
- Synthetic carpets: wet cleaning at home or at a cleaner, once or twice a year.
- Wool and viscose: professional dry cleaning only.
- Always dry fully, laid flat, away from direct sun.
Storage
Roll with the pile inwards, wrapped in paper or cloth (not plastic), in a dry place.
